Suzanne Shaw has confessed the "fog" she lived in for so long finally lifted after she quit drinking alcohol.

The 39 year old, who underwent an incredible body transformation after changing her diet, took to her Instagram feed to share a stunning photo of herself in a floral pink dress with a v-neckline before opening up to her 88,500 followers in an emotional post.

In the caption, the star spoke out about on her difficult relationship with alcohol and how much things have improved since banning it from her life.

She wrote: "Happy 4th July everyone!! Today marks 547 days sober living for me and as I sit back and reflect on my old habits and lifestyle I am feeling quite emotional.

"I don’t say this often about myself but incredibly proud of the life I’m now leading, compared to the fog I lived in for so long.

"There’s not much chat out there about the ‘grey area’ of drinking. There’s lots of focus on quitting because of alcoholism but not a lot about a bad relationship with alcohol."

The star, who recently shared a peek inside her stunning Buckinghamshire home, went on to explain the difference between alcoholism and the simple negative way alcohol can impact one's life.

She continued: "Some people class it as the same thing, however, since becoming involved in the sober community it’s actually important we open up about quitting because it’s not serving our lives not just because we are in AA or the priory (huge respect to those who are btw)

"So many sit in suffering and silence to that ‘bad relationship’ in fear they may be judged. We live in a culture of celebrating the big drinking session, wine o’clock, pint at the pub so unless you have a big problem and have announced you’re an alcoholic, why quit?

"The pressure to drink and stay in the culture is quite insane when you think about it!"

Suzi confessed leaving her drinking days behind has done her a world of good as she "finally" feels as though she has control over what she wants to "achieve".

"Well, quitting booze has been the best decision I have made in my life and I have had nothing but gain from doing so," she explained.

"At first the change was tough and relationships have adapted along the way but I’m living life so much more, pushing my limits, learning, growing, feeling, loving and finally in control of what I want to achieve."

The TV personality went on: "I understand it’s not for everyone but I also understand that there are people out there that may need to hear and read this post because at one point I was hoping to find someone who had my story – thank you @andyramageofficial
