Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Skipped Lady Gabriella Windsor’s Royal Wedding

Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston got married in an idyllic wedding at St. George’s Chapel, the day before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first wedding anniversary.

While Queen Elizabeth, Princess Anne, Prince Philip, Princess Beatrice, and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, were all in attendance for the big day, there were some family members who were noticeably absent.

Prince Harry attended solo, meaning that Meghan Markle didn’t make it to the latest royal wedding. As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently welcomed their first child—Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor—it makes sense that Meghan might want to stay home with her new baby. After all, Archie is only 12 days old.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton also didn’t make it to Lady Gabriella’s wedding. According to Harper’s BAZAAR UK, “Prince William is expected to attend the FA Cup Final later today, an essential part of his role as President of the Football Association.” It’s possible that the Duchess of Cambridge decided to stay home with her three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—especially as William likely had royal engagements to attend.

However, other members of the Middleton family stepped out at the royal wedding, including Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. Sister Pippa Middleton attended with her husband, James Matthews, while brother James Middleton brought along his new girlfriend.
