Hot celeb couples who found true love thanks to their Cupid-playing mates from Emily Blunt to Kylie Minogue

DATING is hard, even for celebrities. But as it turns out, sometimes the old ways really are the best – just as these hot celebrity couples are proving. Why not take a leaf out of their book and see whether your friends really do know you best.

Emily Blunt, 36, and John Krasinski, 39

Who set them up? The Devil Wears Prada actress was apparently having dinner with a friend in 2009 and discussing how much she was enjoying being single when her friend spotted John, who she knew, and introduced them. And the rest is history.

First date: It reportedly involved pizza and John’s West Hollywood apartment, but Emily has said she would rather not discuss the details of their “special night”. Oo-er.

He said: “I met her and I was so nervous. I was like: ‘Oh god, I think I’m going to fall in love with her.’”

She said: “Meeting John really changed my life. When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible.”

Happily ever after? They got engaged 10 months after meeting and married in Lake Como in 2010. They now have daughters Hazel, five, and Violet, two.

Kylie Minogue, 50, and Paul Solomons, 43

Who set them up? Mutual friends reckoned that together the pop queen and GQ’s creative director would be lucky in love (soz).

First date: They were introduced in February 2018, but managed to keep it under wraps before going Insta official at Kylie’s 50th birthday party at London party spot Chiltern Firehouse last May.

He said: At the GQ Awards at the Tate Modern in London last year, Paul wrote on Insta: “Simply no words to describe what an honour it was to escort this incredible lady.” Aww.

She said: “Just when you think: ‘Will it ever happen?’ it came and surprised me.”

Happily ever after? She’s trying to keep things private, but the many smushy snaps on Insta are enough to tell us things are going well for Kyles.

Elsa Pataky, 42, and Chris Hemsworth, 35

Who set them up? The pair shared a dialect coach, who insisted they call each other.

First date: Far from casual drinks in a bar, they decided to meet at a business function in 2010. How romantic.

He said: “From the first time we met, we just made sense.”

She said: “Before I met him, I heard his voice on the phone and that was what I loved. He was probably making it even deeper.”

Happily ever after? They tied the knot on vacay in Indonesia just three months after meeting. Two became five when daughter India arrived in 2012, and then twins Tristan and Sasha in 2014.

Courteney Cox, 54, and Johnny McDaid, 42

Who set them up? Ed Sheeran is the man behind this love affair. He’s a long-time friend of Court’s (we know, random) and Snow Patrol singer Johnny co-wrote his No.1 single Shape Of You.

First date: After finalising her divorce from David Arquette in 2013, Courtney was keen to jump back into the dating game and agreed to go for drinks with Johnny.

He said: “I don’t know if you can put a label on what makes us work, but I know that I’ve never loved like I love this woman.”

She said: “He’s my guy, he’s my one. He’s my partner.”

Happily ever after? It’s been a rocky road for the couple, who got engaged in 2014 but called it off 18 months later. They reunited in 2016, minus a ring, and are still going strong.

Meghan Trainor, 25, and Daryl Sabara, 26

Who set them up? Chloë Grace Moretz, who thought Spy Kids actor Daryl and pop-star bezzie Meghan were the perfect match.

First date: Bowling and karaoke on a double date with Chloë and her then-boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham.

He said: “It’s super-cheesy, but when you know you know. As soon as she walked in the room and I saw her, I just knew: ‘This is The One.’”

She said: “It was kind of like a middle-school date. We had a great night and I’ve hung out with him ever since.”

Happily ever after? They had an intimate wedding at their LA home last December on Meghan’s 25th birthday. She wore a stunning white Berta gown that had all the sparkles. Dreamy.

Cameron Diaz, 46, and Benji Madden, 40

Who set them up? Former party girl and Cameron’s BFF Nicole Richie, who is married to Benji’s brother Joel, masterminded the whole thing.

First date: Cameron threw a dinner party at her Beverly Hills home in May 2014, which Nicole and Joel brought Benji to.

He said: “I’m the luckiest guy. I love this woman!”

She said: “The first thing I said was: ‘He’s hot.’ How come I didn’t know this before?”

Happily ever after? They tied the knot in January 2015 in a ceremony at Cam’s home. Nicole was a bridesmaid, obvs.

Salma Hayek, 52, and François-Henri Pinault, 56

Who set them up? It was former Gucci exec Mimma Viglezio who suggested to pal Salma that she go on a date with her friend, French billionaire François – but at first the actress thought she meant his then-70-year-old dad. Awks.

First date: A romantic dinner in April 2006, which Salma didn’t realise was just for the two
of them until she arrived.

He said: Apparently when Salma told him she would only be with him if she could keep
her financial independence, he replied: “I know. That’s why I want to marry you.”

She said: “He came along, swept me off my feet, changed my entire universe and knocked me up.”

Happily ever after? Their 2009 Venice wedding was said to have cost £1.5million, and they are parents to daughter Valentina, 11.
