Paul McCartney says John Lennon visits him in his dreams

John Lennon is still with Paul McCartney, nearly 40 years after his death.

“I dream about [Lennon],” McCartney told Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” Monday. “The thing is when you’ve had a relationship like that for so long, such a deep relationship. I love it when people revisit you in your dreams.”

McCartney, 77, revealed he often dreams about his time in The Beatles.

“I often have band dreams and they’re crazy,” he continued. “I’m often with John, just talking about doing something, and I come to get my Hofner bass, ready to play, and it’s covered in sticky tape. You know, dreams! I’m picking all this stuff off trying to talk to him.

“I had a lot of dreams about John,” he said. “They’re always good.”

McCartney also said that the music for the iconic song “Yesterday” came from one of his dreams.
