Tool’s Maynard James Keenan Says He Had COVID-19, Still Dealing With Residual Effects

Maynard James Keenan revealed that he contracted coronavirus in February and is still dealing with its residual effects.

“I’m still dealing with the residual effects. But it was ugly. I survived it, but it wasn’t pretty. So I definitely had to deal with that,” he said in an interview with AZ Central.

The Tool lead singer said he is still suffering from the after-effects of the deadly disease such as coughing and lung damage.
“I had to go through some major medications to undo the residual effects,” he added.

The 56-year-old rocker said he also had an autoimmune attack on his system in the form of a rheumatoid arthritis.

Keenan, who is also a martial artist, criticized those who do not wear masks during the pandemic.

“We wear seatbelts. We don’t smoke in trains, planes or taxis anymore, or even restaurants. There’s reasons for those things.
There are some compromises that come along with freedom. I’m not sure why that’s so difficult to grasp,” he said.

He also spoke about his upcoming Puscifer album Existential Reckoning.
