Zara and Mike Tindall enjoy romantic Valentines Day dinner in Rome as he juggles work

Zara and Mike Tindall have been celebrating Valentine's Day in Italy.

The former rugby player, 43, posted a sweet snap of the couple on Instagram as they enjoyed a romantic dinner ahead of the Six Nations match between England and Italy on Sunday 13 February.

Mike, who recently shared rare details about the royal family's WhatsApp group, was in Rome for work.

His podcast with James Haskell and Alex Payne, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, is currently following England's progress in the Six Nations tournament.

He captioned a snap of the two sitting outside a restaurant: "Bringing Valentine's Day to The Green Room!"

Zara, 40,who was recently spotted at Cheltenham racecourse with their eight year old daughter Mia, was dressed casually in the snap, pairing a crisp white shirt with a navy jumper, navy trousers, white trainers and a pair of tortoise-shell sunglasses.

Mike was dressed in a similar fashion, in denim jeans, white trainers and a light blue shirt.

The couple married in Edinburgh in July 2011 and share three children, Mia, eight, Lena, three and Lucas, who is one in March.

They rarely share photos of themselves together on social media.

However, in January, Mike took to his Instagram account to share a snap of Zara with their son, Lucas.

The couple had enjoyed an evening with their baby boy at Cotswold Farm Park.

He wrote: "Lovely evening wandering around @cotswoldfarmpark last night. Worth a visit if you're close by!!"

In the post, Zara is pictured as she turns to face the camera, smiling while pushing a pram down a forest path adorned with fairy lights and wearing a cosy ensemble of bobble hat, coat and boots.

Following the birth of Lucas in March 2021 the royal couple held a joint christening for their son alongside his cousin, August, the son of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

The royal family, including Zara's grandmother, The Queen, gathered on Sunday 21 November at All Saints Chapel in Great Windsor Park, Berkshire, to witness the ceremony.

At the time,The Queen had pulled out of most public events due to the coronavirus pandemic and her own health concerns, but there was no stopping her attending her great-grandchildrens' christening.

The Sun had previously reported that Her Majesty would have to wait until the day of the ceremony to make a decision about attending, with advice from her personal doctor.

It is thought that it was the first time two royal babies have been christened together.

The christening also had a special significance, taking place just one day after what would have been the Queen and late husband Prince Philip's 74th wedding anniversary.
