But for one fashion fan, the gamble paid off when she received the £41.99 'Sequins Tie Backless Mermaid Hem Bridesmaid Dress' she ordered from Shein.
Bekahn Thomas took to TikTok and shared a clip where she can be seen trying on the stunning gold, mermaid style dress which she bagged for just £33 ($38) thanks to a discount code.
In the clip, she begins: "OK so I had ordered this dress form Shein and it arrived tool ate but this was under 50 and I think it's so gorgeous.
"It's a small size but it's very generous in sizing so I've cinched it in but that is the back on it.
"It's a beautiful back. I just want to show you the shape of it.
