When did Princess Beatrice get married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi? – The Sun

PRINCESS Beatrice and her husband are now expecting their first child.

But when did she and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi marry? Here's all you need to know…

When did Princess Beatrice marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi?

The couple got engaged in Italy in September 2019, before announcing their news to the world on September 26, 2019.

Revealing the proposal on Twitter, they said they were "extremely happy" to share the news.

They added: "We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married."

The pair married on July 17, 2020.

Beatrice, 31, and Edoardo, 37, said "I do" surrounded by close family and friends in All Saints Chapel, Windsor Great Park.

The Queen's granddaughter and the millionaire property developer were due to wed at the Chapel Royal, at St James's Palace, in London, with 150 guests, in May.

Instead, a select group gathered for a more intimate ceremony with strict social distancing measures in place.

The Queen was driven with Prince Philip from Windsor Castle, where they had been isolating since March, three miles up the Long Walk and through Windsor Great Park to the private church.

A friend of the couple said the nuptials were arranged on July 17 to make sure the Queen could attend before she leaves Windsor for Balmoral at the end of the month.

A friend of Beatrice's said: "A massive wedding was out of the question because of coronavirus.

"They were obviously very keen for the Queen to come so the wedding had to happen before she goes up to Balmoral so this was a great opportunity.

It is understood Beatrice spent the night before the wedding at the 30-room Royal Lodge with her mum Sarah Ferguson, and dad Prince Andrew, before making the walk to the church in the grounds.

Who attended the wedding?

The Queen and Prince Philip were among attendees along with Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew.

It was the first time Prince Andrew was seen the Queen since US prosecutors filed a legal request to speak to the Duke about links to Jeffrey Epstein.

Edo's father Alex Mapelli Mozzi, 69, Nikki Williams-Ellis, 64, and sister Natalia Yeomans, 38, were also on the exclusive guest list.

A friend of Beatrice's said: "A massive wedding was out of the question because of coronavirus.

"They were obviously very keen for the Queen to come so the wedding had to happen before she goes up to Balmoral so this was a great opportunity.

"They are just like a normal family and had to make sacrifices like many others have up and down the country and looking forward to having a wonderful celebration when the time is right."

"So many guests were disappointed not to make the big day but understood the reason for it.

"They needed to make the wedding Covid-secure and safe for the Queen so what better way than the All Saints Chapel with reception on site at the Royal Lodge.

"They are just like a normal family and had to make sacrifices like many others have up and down the country and looking forward to having a wonderful celebration when the time is right."

Who designed the engagement ring?

Princess Beatrice's ring was designed by British jeweller Shaun Leane.

The "modern classic", as it's been described, was designed in collaboration with Leane by Mozzi.

The central brilliant-cut diamond boasts tapered diamond shoulders and is set with pave-diamonds around the band.

When is she expecting a baby?

Beatrice is expecting her first baby in autumn – leaving the Queen "delighted".

The Queen currently has ten great-grandkids after Princess Eugenie gave birth to son August in February, followed by Zara Tindall's son Lucas in March.

Beatrice's baby will be her 12th – with Meghan Markle due to give birth to her and Prince Harry's daughter in the summer.

A Buckingham Palace statement said today: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year.

"The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

Beatrice is already a stepmother to Edoardo's four-year-old son Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie.

The announcement comes on the anniversary of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018.
