Meghan Markle and Harry share Nelson Mandela quote saying ‘it’s easy to destroy’

Harry and Meghan have shared a Nelson Mandela quote about making peace – hours after reports the duchess allegedly cut her dad from her life.

The royal couple posted the inspiring words from the South African freedom fighter on Instagram yesterday.

"It is so easy to break down and destroy," the post reads.

"The heroes are those who make peace and build."

Just 24 hours earlier, reports emerged suggesting Meghan had no plans to make peace with her dad after a series of "betrayals".

As a result, it is claimed, Thomas Markle is unlikely to meet grandson Archie, according to The Sun .

A source told the newspaper: “It’s a terribly sad situation but Meghan has made the very difficult decision that she doesn’t have an active relationship with her father any more.

“This was actually a decision she made some time ago and it is something she’s now coming to terms with.

“It’s obviously heart-breaking for her but she has to protect herself, her husband and her son."

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry declined to comment.

The post also comes after a series of PR disasters for the royal couple, with criticism of their use of private planes, and an apparent rift with William and Kate.

When the inspiring quote was shared by the couple – whose renovation of new home Frogmore Cottage cost the taxpayer £2.4 million –  it appeared to jar with some followers.
