Mum left stunned after she buys Kingsmill loaf made entirely of crusts
A mum was left stunned after opening up her new loaf of bread and finding it was made entirely of crusts.
Timea Ganji, from Radcliffe-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire, had got up to to make her children's school lunch but was shocked when she opened the Kingsmill bag.
Instead of the normal slices, there was just a long line of crusts and she was forced to abandon the lunch-making.
Kingsmill is investigating the bizarre bread incident and has posted her another loaf to make up for it.
Timea, 41, told the BBC : "It just looked like a normal loaf when we bought it.
"Because of the yellow packaging, you can't see it properly. You can see it's sliced, but you couldn't see it is all just crusts.
"Then, in the morning, I just wanted some toast and to make sandwiches and I was just staring at it. I don't really understand how it can happen."
The restaurant owner added: "It's not funny first thing in the morning, when you have half an hour to get the kids to school and there's no time to get another loaf."
She is now planning to break the product into breadcrumbs or turning it into a meatloaf.
Kingsmill said the crust-filled loaf should never have made it through its quality control checks.
The firm said it had launched a probe "to find out how this particular collection of crusts found its way into Mrs Ganji's shopping".
