Savvy shoppers have been sharing their amazement at finding a £12 Primark hair dryer that apparently seems to give similar results to Dyson’s cult favourite Super Sonic Hair Dryer,£299.99 here.

The conversation started after one bargain hunter posted her find in the Primark Haul group on Facebook – and it sparked further comments from others claiming they also love the bargain tool.

“Just want to say the rumours about this hair dryer are so right. It dried my hair fully and faster than any other I’ve owned – 3 minutes top it took,” wrote the Facebook user, uploading a snap of her dryer so others could see the exact model.

Group members agreed with her verdict on the styler, with one noting that she’s tried other hair dryers worth £50+, but this is “the best one” she’s found, and that “it dries hair so fast – 3 mins and you’re done”.

The dryer in question is from Andrew Fitzsimons’ first collection of hair tools, which he launched in partnership with Primark in 2020. The range was a hit because of its pretty pink packaging, low prices, and because Andrew is one of the Kardashian sisters’ go-to hair stylists.

Also, if you’re wondering what rumour this Facebook user is referring to, the Primark x AF Hair Dryer has been doing the rounds on TikTok after userKatie Arter claimed it was just as good as Dyson’s £288 more expensive model, and gave similar speedy and sleek results.

It’s not the first time a tool of this kind has gone viral. Just the other month, Lidl’s Silvercrest Multi-Function Hot Air Styler,£11.99 here, caused a buying frenzy after it was compared to Dyson’s Airwrap Styler Complete,£449 here.

Since both hot stylers come with six different attachments, offer a cold-shot feature, and the option to control speed and heat, those who had wanted to purchase the Dyson Airwap, but couldn’t quite afford the hefty price tag, quickly snapped up Lidl’s version.
