Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to skip part of Australia tour… and could be Down Under for just 36 hours for Man Utd friendly – The Sun
LEEDS boss Marcelo Bielsa is planning to spend just 36 hours in Australia for his side's pre-season tour because he has other priorities.
The Argentina boss is likely to attend their fixture with bitter rivals Manchester United on Wednesday but will fly home before taking on Western Sydney Wanderers three days later.
None of his new signings jetted Down Under while a number of players were granted extra rest following exploits with their national sides and also stayed at home
So Bielsa wants to divide his time between both squads to ensure the players left in England are put through a rigorous pre-season regime.
The 63-year-old didn't arrive in Australia with the squad on Sunday in order to get his vision across to his squad ahead of another promotion chase.
Captain Liam Cooper said: "Marcelo wants to work with the lads he has brought in and the lads who came back a bit later.
"They are doing the fitness work they missed out on when we were there.
