Liverpool still owed £84m for Philippe Coutinho’s Barcelona transfer despite flop’s Bayern Munich loan – The Sun

LIVERPOOL are reportedly still owed a mammoth £84million for Philippe Coutinho’s Barcelona transfer.

AS claims Jurgen Klopp will soon have more cash in the bank with Barca having paid just £58m of Coutinho’s £142m fee in nearly two years.

The Brazilian moved to Spain in January 2018 but failed to make an impact during his time at the Nou Camp.

Coutinho was shipped out to Bayern Munich on loan over the summer after Barca decided to replace him with Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

But Ernesto Valverde’s men can’t get out of paying Liverpool the rest of their money, with £24m due soon and the other £60m later.

Barcelona’s money problems don’t stop there though, with a grand total of £230m owed to other clubs.

As well as Coutinho’s £84m, Barca still need to finish paying up for the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Arturo Vidal and Arthur, as well as flop Malcom, defender Emerson and new goalie Neto.

It means some underperforming players could be moved on, with reports claiming Man Utd are lining up a bid for Ousmane Dembele.

Griezmann could also be heading off after failing to bond with Lionel Messi, although Barcelona dream of using him to re-sign Neymar from PSG.

But there’s already home-grown talent at the club to cover for any departures, with 16-year-old Ansu Fati already making a big impact on the first team.

However, the Under-19s are already searching for a new coach after club legend Victor Valdes was sacked for a furious row with Director of Youth football Patrick Kluivert.
