'Need to bounce back' – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer issues rallying call to Man Utd flops with fears over Tottenham thumping

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER IS desperately trying to rally his beleaguered Manchester United troops with fears of another thumping at the weekend.

Solskjaer’s job is hanging by a thread after the club’s 5-0 home defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

But he is trying to remain upbeat and lift his players.

Straight after defeat on Sunday he was looking ahead.

Solskjaer said: “We have to sort the frame of minds out and make sure we go into the next training session and the next game in the right frame of mind.

“Manchester United have had tough times, difficult times before and they have always bounced back and taken on challenges.”

But he will need to lift the flat mood at the training ground ahead of Saturday’s trip to Tottenham as right now it is rock bottom.

Still Solskjaer is well versed on United responses when they feel under attack from critics.

His former boss Sir Alex Ferguson used to employ a siege mentality and make his players determined to fight back and prove people wrong.

He has a tough job on his hands with many of the players having lost faith in the manager, his training, tactics and team selections.

While Solskjaer believes they are close to getting where he wants them to be they simply seem to be slipping further away.

They travel to a Tottenham side on Saturday smarting from their own 1-0 defeat in a London derby away to West Ham last weekend.
