Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy headed for end-of-footie-season court fight — with Becky's ex as a Team Coleen witness

COLEEN Rooney and Rebekah Vardy are heading for an end-of-footie-season court fight.

And it emerged Rebekah’s ex-husband is set to be called as a witness for Team Coleen.

The legal clash will go ahead as their fellas’ on-pitch campaigns also build to a climax.

High Court officials confirmed a trial date for the bitter Wagatha Christie libel case is set for April 27 and is forecast to last at least a week.

But delays will almost certainly see the case spill into a second week.

It will dominate headlines as Coleen’s Derby manager hubby Wayne and Rebekah’s Leicester striker fella Jamie enter the final matches of the season, dubbed “squeaky bum time” by Wayne’s former Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Legal costs on both sides have already soared into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

But the pair seem set on avoiding any settlement.

Rebekah’s businessman ex-husband Stephen Clarke is among those who have given statements to support Coleen.

Rebekah, 39, is suing Coleen, 35, for libel after her former pal accused her of leaking stories to newspapers.

Coleen turned detective in October 2019 by placing a string of fake stories on her Instagram with restricted access to see if they appeared in the media, which they did.

In a final post, she said the fake stories had been viewed only by one person, ending in the dramatic claim: “It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
