Taking to Twitter to moan about the move, one person wrote: “Why do bbc f**k the schedule up ? Tennis was on bbc2 but they move it to bbc1 and move Eastenders to bbc2. Are there people who cannot receive bbc2 #DefundTheBBC #EastEnders.”
Another added: “Eastenders shunted to bbc2 again because of sport, I'm sure the BBC are trying to kill off the show, it's in a very delicate state anyway with the number of viewers at an all time low, If it doesn't watch out they'll be none left. @BBCOne #EastEnders.”
While someone else wrote: “#Eastenders moved to BBC2. You know this is just the start of moving it online for good right? #Joke.”
Last month the BBC amde the decision to premier episodes early for three weeks during the footie tournament on iPlayer.
Episodes were available to stream each Monday at 6am, before they went out on BBC One.
