Kym Marsh to ‘steal Glitterball trophy’ as she makes Strictly comeback

Kym Marsh will be returning to the ballroom floor for week 11 of Strictly Come Dancing with her partner Graziano Di Prima. The former Coronation Street actress withdrew from last week’s show after contracting coronavirus. Ahead of her upcoming performance, dance expert Doctor Jill Rose Jacobs claimed Kym “will benefit from having the chance to sit back and observe the other dancers” as the competition heats up.
Kym, 46, was pictured on Monday stepping out for the first time to rehearse for the next episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
She missed last week’s show due to a “scary” battle with Covid but BBC bosses have allowed her to continue into week 11 of the competition.
Doctor Jill studies the contestants each week and is convinced Kym will “steal the Glitterball trophy”.
She is competing against Will Mellor, Molly Rainford, Helen Skelton, Hamza Yassin and Fleur East.
“Kym didn’t perform as well at Blackpool as I’d expected,” Doctor Jill explained about Kym scoring 31 points for American smooth to Chasing Cars.
“When she began her routine, the hair on my arms stood up – everything was right. Then, the routine fizzled.”
“Kym seemed to have lost energy,” the expert added. “Kym was showing signs of compensating for exhaustion even before the official Covid diagnosis.
“Allowing Kym time to step back and recover was of course the best thing to do and I’m glad to see she has been recovering well.”
She continued: “Kym will benefit from having the chance to sit back and observe the other dancers which is as valuable a tool as physical practice.
“I expect that Kym may make a comeback and even possibly steal the Glitterball Trophy.
“Allowing Kym to return isn’t unfair to the other contestants as any of them may also test positive at any time.
“They are all at risk and they would have been offered the same courtesy. It is part of life and part of Strictly.”

Kym gave an update on her recovery during Monday’s episode of Morning Live to host Gethin Jones.
She explained: “So obviously, at the start of the week, I came down with Covid and that wasn’t pleasant and certainly wasn’t at a good time at all.”
Speaking about her father Dave who has terminal cancer, Kym said: “But then dad went into hospital during the week and obviously I have not been able to see him, I managed to see him yesterday because I have been testing negative.
“I have been able to go and see him but he is ok, he is on the mend but it was very scary for a couple of days, it has been a bit of a full plate on our end.”
Ellie Taylor and her partner Johannes Radebe were the latest couple sent home from the competition following a dance-off with Fleur and Vito Coppola.
The comedian told It Take Two viewers on Monday who she would like to see win the Glitterball trophy.
She revealed: “There are some wonderful people left, but I would love Helen [Skelton] to win. She’s my bestie – she’s worked so hard, and she’s really blossomed.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Friday at 8pm on BBC One.
