Liam Gallagher hooked on frozen margaritas after ordering eight litres at local boozer

LIAM GALLAGHER was once the hard man of rock ’n’ roll, chugging beers, chain smoking and being the most outspoken guy in music.

But while he is still as gobby as ever, he has clearly softened — as I’ve learned he has become hooked on frozen margaritas.

The Oasis rocker has been ordering Eight Litres of the stuff at a time from his local boozer in North London, forking out so much for the stuff during lockdown that it has helped keep the pub in business.

The strong, £10-a-pop cocktails, made up of tequila, triple sec and lime juice, are a specialty at The Red Lion & Sun in Highgate, and I’m told that Liam and his fiance Debbie Gwyther regularly ring the ale house and ask for the drinks to be brought over to their home.

A source said: “Liam and Debbie tried frozen margaritas ages ago and would always have them when they went to the pub.

“But in lockdown the owners started offering deliveries, so they have been able to call up and get them sent straight over.

“They aren’t for the faint hearted because they are really strong, but it’s a bit of a surprise that it’s Liam’s drink of choice.

“They have been such regular customers that the owners have made a tidy profit and have invested more into making it the pub’s trademark drink.

“They are on to a winner.”

The pub holds a special place in Liam’s heart as it is believed to be where he first met his model daughter Molly Moorish face-to-face in 2018.

Judging by how strong I hear those cocktails are though, his fond memories from that meeting in the pub may often be a little hazy.

Flower 'bout that Jack

Everything’s coming up roses for Jacqueline Jossa, not least thanks to this floral summer outfit.

It is part of the 2019 I’m A Celebrity winner’s new swimwear collection for clothing website InTheStyle, which will be available from 7pm on Wednesday.

She posed for the snap to promote the range but admitted she was anxious about stripping off to model it after months stuck at home.

Jac wrote on Instagram: “Even though I helped design everything I cannot tell you how nervous I was about shooting it, not knowing if I’d look and feel nice but seriously guys just wow!

“Every piece made me feel incredible, the shapes we designed are so flattering!”

She signed a six-figure deal to work with the brand and her debut range in February last year became their fastest-selling ever, with it selling out in six minutes.

Anyone who wants any of her swimwear better be prepared to dive straight in, then.

Hunk Paul is off the market

He was the most lusted-after bloke in Britain following his stint in the BBC drama Normal People but Paul Mescal is now off the market.

The telly hunk has gone official with his girlfriend, US singer Phoebe Bridgers, flying her over for a romantic weekend with him in East London.

The pair were first linked last year but kept quiet about their fledgling relationship.

Now they appear to be head over heels and were spotted hand-in-hand at the weekend. A source said: “Paul and Phoebe were out in Shoreditch and looked so sweet.

“They were chatting, laughing and quite tactile. They seemed to really savour their time together.”

They were also seen having a drink by a rooftop pool in Monday’s sunshine.

Paul only recently returned from a three-month filming stint in Australia for his upcoming film Carmen.

Phoebe – who counts Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney among her fans – is working on her third album after the release of Punisher last June.

Asked about Paul in April, she said: “Oh, he’s the best.”

Lockdown workouts

Plenty of people were showing off the results of their lockdown workouts on social media thanks to the sunny weather.

But it was Drake and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who took things to the next level with the photos of their bulging muscles on Instagram.

Hotline Bling rapper Drake posted this selfie showing his rippling abs in a boxing studio.

Meanwhile The Rock said he had been spending long days and nights in the gym ahead of shirtless scenes in his upcoming film Black Adam, due out next summer, in which he plays the title character who is “the immortal champion by the Gods”.

He wrote: “Been working extremely hard dieting, training and conditioning unlike any other role of my entire career.”

Somehow, I’m not sure I could quite pull this look off and I’m certainly not fussed enough to spend hours on end in the gym each day.

I’ll leave that to these guys.

Pixie no souper star

Pixie Lott has confessed she is so bad at cooking that she once ended up in hospital after trying to warm some soup.

The Mama Do singer admitted: “I’ve been asked to do a few of the cooking shows but there’s just no way. I’m awful.

“I’m not even good with the microwave. I tried to microwave soup. I couldn’t do that.

“I burned my hand. I had to go to A&E. They’re dangerous, watch out for them microwaves.”

She added on the When No One’s Watching podcast: “I use Deliveroo to an embarrassing extent.

“It will be for anything. If you’ve run out of shampoo you can get that, you can get a razor, you can get deodorant, you can get batteries – anything.

“I Deliveroo’d a coffee, a single coffee. And one time I woke up and I was really hungover and I needed Fanta and I Deliveroo’d a Fanta.

“Sometimes the Deliveroo charge is more than the Fanta.”

That’s one way to burn through her pop star fortune.

A Cruel fate for Emma

Disney’s Cruella had a disappointing reception at the box office at the weekend as cinemagoers failed to return in great numbers.

The movie, starring Emma Stone as the signature villain, made £1.5million from Friday to Sunday, making it the third most-watched film.

It was launched simultaneously in cinemas and on streaming service Disney+ which is likely to have stopped many people from making a trip to see it.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, featuring James Corden as the voice of the title character, held on to the top spot for a second week, making £2million – a 47 per cent drop from the previous weekend.

As of yesterday it had raked in an impressive £8.2million after 15 days in cinemas.

And while Cruella may be scary to some, it isn’t as spooky as the latest horror film The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It which took the second spot, taking £1.9million.

With plenty more stellar releases this summer, I for one can’t wait to get back to the cinema.

Perry happy

Katy Perry believes giving birth to her daughter Daisy with Orlando Bloom last August has helped her understand unconditional love.

She said: “As a performer I’ve always relied on the love and acceptance and validation of the outside world and that ultimately can waver at times.

“When you have a child, you have someone who looks at you and doesn’t know anything on your resume, doesn’t know anything about your bank account, doesn’t know anything, doesn’t care, and just loves you.”

She added in L’Officiel magazine: “I have gone through a real journey in the past few years of having fun with costumes and lights and props and theatrics, but I have another life at home and it’s very small and normal.

“I don’t feel like I have to be ‘on’ any more, and I think that’s because I’ve figured out both my professional and personal lives. I’ve weaved them together to be a full-fledged functioning human…of sorts.”

Top of the charts

INDIE pop band Easy Life are set to score the highest new entry in the charts this week with their debut album Life’s A Beach.

Midweek figures show it is at No2, just behind last week’s chart-topper Sour, from Olivia Rodrigo.

The Leicester group, who reached No7 with their Junk Food EP last year, are ahead of TEXAS whose tenth studio album, Hi, is on course to go to No3.

If it stays there when the charts are revealed on Friday it will be the Scottish group’s highest-charting album since their No1 greatest hits collection in 2000.

Taylor Swift has also returned to the top five thanks to her sixth No1 album Evermore.

It was released in December but has bounced back to No4 this week after it was put out on vinyl.

And Del Amitri’s first album in 19 years has proved to be worth the wait for fans, as it is set to go to No5.

Jesy on a winner

Jesy Nelson made the most of the Bank Holiday weekend by having a boozy night out with Chelsea footballer Mason Mount.

The former Little Mix singer was seen hopping into a taxi after leaving the Tower Suites rooftop bar in London on Monday night, around the same time Mason left.

He had been out celebrating after his team won the Champions League, beating Manchester City on Saturday.

Jesy was also seen letting her hair down at another London bar, MNKY HSE, with pals over the weekend.

She seems to be making the most of her newfound freedom since quitting the group on December.

Nic wave in front

Nicole Scherzinger is a singer, dancer, actor, a telly judge and now she can add yet another talent to her long list – surfing.

The Pussycat Dolls member showed off her impressive board skills on Instagram, sharing a video of her expertly riding a wave during a US national holiday on Monday – Memorial Day – which honours military personnel who have died while serving their country.

She has spent the majority of the past 18 months Stateside with her boyfriend Thom Evans, although I imagine she will be back in the UK next year for the band’s reunion tour.

It is hoped the gigs will finally go ahead, though the dates are two years later than originally planned.

Nicole is clearly keeping herself in tip-top condition for the shows.

Alanis on tour

ALANIS MORISSETTE has announced new dates for her world tour celebrating 25 years of her hit album Jagged Little Pill.

Scheduled for last year, she will now kick off the UK leg in Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on November 15, followed by new dates in Leeds and Glasgow.

She will also perform in Manchester and Dublin, as well as two nights at London’s O2 Arena after the first sold out.

The seven-time Grammy winner will play the album – which includes the songs Ironic, Hand In My Pocket and You Oughta Know – in full during the shows, as well as a variety of her other tracks.

She has also released a version of On The Road Again featuring Willie Nelson, writing on Twitter: “I can’t wait to get back on the road again soon and see everyone! I’ve missed you so much. Love you.”

Liz Phair will be her support act, tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday.
