And now, she’s dished another sarcastic jibe at the royal way of life when discussing her wedding day to Prince Harry in the first episode of part two of the Netflix documentary series, Harry & Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex expressed her bemusement at getting wed in a castle, something that is a tradition within the royals.

In episode four, Meghan recalled: “On the day of our wedding, it’s like I went into a really calm space.

“I don’t know how I was so calm. I look back and I’m like, ‘How was I so calm?’

“And all I wanted was a mimosa, a croissant, and, uh, the play the song Going to the Chapel. And that’s what I did. And it was great,” she added.

Pal Clare Waight Geller weighed in: “The crowd… it was just literally like you were in the biggest football stadium. This massive, massive roar.”

Meghan then remarked: “So I knew that when I got to the actual castle…

“How funny is that to say? ‘When I got to the castle for my wedding,'” she scoffed. “That there’d be tons of people. What I didn’t know was people would be lining both sides of the streets.”

The castle wasn’t the only thing which Meghan found particularly funny about the ceremony.

She and Harry discussed their reception and how they cut their wedding cake in a rather unique manner.

“We cut a cake. With a sword,” Harry said as Meghan began to laugh and added: “With a sword!”

She added: “It was great. It was all so over the top. I think most people were just like, ‘What is happening?’ Elton John’s performing.

“I couldn’t find my mum because she had beelined to the stage to watch Elton sing.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s project has already bagged itself a number of records for Netflix.

It’s become the streamer’s most-watched documentary series ever, with the first three episodes racking up 81.55M hours viewed.

The series, which debuted on December 8, now holds the title of most hours viewed across any Netflix documentary title in a premiere week.

Harry & Meghan also debuted at No. 2 on Netflix’s English-language TV charts and appears in the Top 10 in 85 countries.

The docu-series had begun smashing Netflix records in the UK after just 24 hours.

The first episode of Harry & Meghan recorded 2.4 million views on smart TV devices during its first day on Netflix in the UK.

Episode two had 1.5 million streams, while the third instalment racked up 800,000, according to independently audited figures supplied by overnights.tv [via Deadline].

Netflix ratings are being captured in the UK for the first time after the streaming service signed up as a member of Barb, the official television ratings body, in October.

Harry & Meghan beat the opening episode of season five of The Crown, which generated 1.1 million streams on the day of its premiere last month.

Harry & Meghan is available to stream on Netflix now.
