Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Kelvin Fletcher eliminated as he reveals his downfall?

Kelvin Fletcher has been one of the favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing ever since he joined the line-up at the last minute. But during a recent appearance on BBC’s It Takes Two, the former Emmerdale actor opened up to host Rylan Clark-Neal about his concerns when trying to deliver a great performance.

Last weekend, Kelvin and Oti Mabuse wowed judges with their stunning Viennese Waltz but the Strictly star admitted previously he had suffered with motion sickness while rehearsing.

Discussing the dance, Kelvin said: “In the week I was being sick so much and it was really tough with all the spins but it was a great dance I loved it, really nice storyline throughout even though it was a little bit heartbreaking.”

“But no I loved it and some great comments as well,” he added.

Rylan remarked: “You say that about the storyline not only Oti has he got to learn these technical steps, remember them, remember his frame, remember this but the story telling is such a big part of a dance like that.”

“Everyone said on Saturday night the story came across so well,” the host continued.

“Your acting background must help you when it comes down to that?” Rylan asked.

Kelvin explained: “I think in those situations because I’m always looking for the narrative and I think that will help me try with the movement.”

The soap star went on to confess he really struggles to keep a hold of his nerves before the live performances.

“But with being a performer, being an actor it doesn’t help with the nerves,” Kelvin explained.

“I thought it would and that’s still a bit Achilles heel of mine because every Saturday night I’m getting so nervous and I’m trying to relax myself before we go on.”

“It’s not showing,” the It Takes Two host reassured.

Will Kelvin’s nerves get the better of him leading to a shock elimination before the stars head to Blackpool?

According to data collected from all previous series, it seems Kelvin may miss out on the top spot.

Bookmakers bwin has looked at the winners from the previous 16 seasons to get in an insight into which celebrities are more likely to lift the Glitterball Trophy.

Every past winner since the competition began has been in the top three during one of their first three dances.

Kelvin and Oti topped the leaderboard in week one and three and came third in week two.

Michelle Visage was third on the leaderboard in week one and three and was second in week two while Karim Zeroul topped the leaderboard in week two, came eighth in week three and second in week one.

However only one couple in the last six years has managed to win the series after finishing in the top three for the first dance.

Could this mean Kelvin’s chances of winning are over before he gets the chance to dance in Blackpool?

However Karim’s drop to eighth place in the third week of the competition could mean he’ll scoop the number one spot in the final.
