Strictly Come Dancing 2020 LIVE: Remaining celebs battle it out for a place in next week's final

Stars will battle it out for a place in next week's Strictly Come Dance final tonight with celebs dancing not once, but twice to wow the judges.

Five celebs face the semi-finals tonight with Bill Bailey, Maisie Smith, Ranvir Singh, HRVY and Jamie Laing all competing for a coveted spot in next week’s show.

Singer HRVY and Janette Manrara topped the leaderboard last week with an impressive 29 from the judges.

But Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer will have to impress with their two dances after scraping through last week’s quarter finals.

    WHO LEFT STRICTLY LAST WEEK?

JJ Chalmers was the last celebrity to leave the show after his charleston to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chalmers, 33, and his partner Amy Dowden found themselves in a dance off with Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer after coming bottom of the leaderboard in Saturday's show.

But the Invictus Games medallist failed to impress and left the show one week before the semi-final.

Speaking about his time on the show, Chalmers told host Tess Daly: “I’m unbelievably proud.

“I never thought I would make it this far, I've gotten half decent maybe at something which I had no clue about to begin with and I've enjoyed every second of it, it has just been an absolute blast.

“It's just a privilege to be in this long. I mean this competition is insane! To be counted among that cast at this stage in particular means the world to me.”

WHAT IS THIS WEEK'S THEME ON STRICTLY?

This week is the all-important semi-finals, so instead of having a theme, the stars will have to dance two numbers to get through.

Strictly has now announced what dances each couple will be performing – and there’s certainly a lot of variety!

Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez, will start by dancing the Viennese Waltz to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.

The pair will then pick things up by dancing their Couple’s Choice to Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It by Will Smith.

Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice will begin with a graceful Waltz to Un Giorno Per Noi by Josh Groban.

Their next dance will be Jive to Candyman by Christina Aguilera.

Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse will perform a Tango to Enter Sandman by Metallica, before dancing a Charleston to the aptly named song (Won’t You Come Home) by Ottilie Patterson with Chris Barber.

Musician HRVY and Janette Manrara will as kick things off with a Charleston to Another Day Of Sun by the La La Land Cast – the couple will end with a Rumba to Only You by Kylie Minogue and James Corden

And finally, Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer with take up the Quickstep to Thank God I’m A Country Boy by John Denver before finishing off with a Salsa to Last Dance by Donna Summer.
