Ben Thompson was born on August 12, 1981, in Burnley, England.
He moved to London after completing a degree in international business and French at Cardiff University, and a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism.
Ben is a journalist who has worked for the BBC as New York and Middle East Correspondent.
He certainly has a good sense of humour as his Instagram bio states his job description as "Read out loud on @BBCNews" and "Wake up early on @BBCBreakfast".
He also describes himself as a northerner and traveller.
Ben is also a keen photographer and is interested in music and theatre.
What is Ben famous for?
Ben is best known for being on BBC Breakfast as well as having an extensive journalism career.
He first joined the BBC when he was still at university in 2001 when he worked at Radio Wales in Cardiff, working on the morning news programme Good Morning Wales.
Following this he was selected as a BBC Trainee where he worked in different parts of the newsroom.

He has been in a relationship with his partner Andy Roche since 2011.
