Actor Miles Teller’s positive COVID test cost Paramount studios six million dollars after they were forced to shut down production of their Godfather spinoff The Offer earlier series this summer.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed details revealed exclusively by DailyMail.com that said filming for the Paramount Plus Series The Offer was shut down on July 28 after the 34-year-old unvaccinated actor tested positive for COVID-19.
That shutdown resulted in a $6 million loss for the limited series about the making of The Godfather, the Hollywood Reporter reported, although a Paramount Plus representative contested that figure.
It saw production halted for three weeks. Teller was hospitalized, with another dozen members of the crew also catching COVID.

At the time of the shutdown Teller was unvaccinated and refused a COVID test before testing positive on the Hollywood set, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed.
‘Miles Teller is not vaccinated. He wouldn’t even get the test,’ a source told DailyMail.com at the time. ‘Now he’s brought the virus to the set and the whole set had to shut down.’
Teller, who had a leading role in The Spectacular Now and the Divergent series, stars in The Offer, a show about the making of the blockbuster 1972 movie The Godfather, alongside Giovanni Ribisi, Collin Hanks, Matthew Goode, Juno Temple and Dan Fogler.
The Offer dramatizes two-time Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy’s experience making the movie.

The studio confirmed shutdown on the project at the time.
‘Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily halted production… We will continue to follow all safety protocols and monitor the situation closely,’ a spokesperson for Paramount Television Studios told Deadline.
Filming has since resumed for The Offer and Teller returned to the set.

And it’s stupid because every generation in our country for more than a lifetime has been asked to sacrifice something for the safety of their fellow man — get shot, fight Nazis,’ he told the Hollywood Reporter. ‘All that anyone’s being asked here is to get a shot in the arm and put on a mask. Grow up. Get something done.’
Teller is apparently not the only Hollywood star who has openly rejected the vaccine.
Comedian Rob Schneider who is currently shooting Netflix’s Home Team and actress’ Letitia Wright, currently filming Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been openly anti-vaxx.
The Hollywood Reported reported that Wright has shared her anti-vaxx sentiments on the Atlanta set of the Black Panther sequel and parted with her entire U.S. team of representatives after posting an anti-vaxx video on Twitter in December.
Movie and TV productions currently have a ‘Zone A’ area, for actors who must go unmasked while shooting, and crew who remain close to them.
Some studios insist all Zone A members are fully-vaccinated, to try and limit the danger of COVID spreading through a set and halting production.
Black Panther, which is being made by Disney, requires anyone unvaccinated in Zone A to wear a wrist band, although the entertainment giant will require all staff to be vaccinated from mid-October.
Almost 60 per cent of Californians are now fully-vaccinated, slightly above the national average of 56.5 per cent.
Close to three quarters – 72.2 per cent – have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
