  • Their relationship had been under wraps until the paper announced she would no longer report on Munich

Fresh images have emerged of Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann frolicking with his football reporter lover just weeks after splitting up with his wife after 15 years together.

The German football coach, 34, was spotted relaxing on a yacht alongside Lena Wurzenberger, a 30-year-old sports reporter for Germany’s biggest newspaper who has since been barred from reporting on Bayern Munich after the true nature of her relationship with the club’s manager was revealed.

The loved-up pair appeared inseparable as they kissed and held each other in their arms on the stunning vessel off the coast of Ibiza this week.

Wurzenberger, wearing a plain white t-shirt, thigh-length black skirt and a pale denim jacket clasped a wine glass in her hand as she lay back against her football manager lover, who had also donned a white shirt along with a red cap and shades.

The couple laughed and shared a warm embrace as they basked in the sun on the deck of the private yacht, Nagelsmann clearly enjoying a break with the Bild reporter after an underwhelming first year in charge of Germany’s most successful football club.

Nagelsmann, who at age 28 became the youngest ever coach in Bundesliga history when he joined Hoffenheim in 2015, announced just last month he had split up with his wife Verena whom he married in 2018.

The pair share two children.

Wurzenberger was taken off coverage of Bayern Munich after the true nature of their relationship was discovered by the newspaper

Wurzenberger was released ‘with immediate effect’ from covering the Bundesliga champions yesterday after Bild learned of her previously secret relationship with Nagelsmann.

The 30-year-old previously reported on Werder Bremen before moving to Munich where she has been covering Bayern for the past two years.

It is said Nagelsmann is keen to keep their relationship private, as she is well known among Bayern players from her ‘countless interviews’ with them.

For a recent edition of BILD, she interviewed star signing Sadio Mane following his £35million move from Liverpool.

Nagelsmann, who turns 35 later this month, has two children with Verena, a son and a daughter.

It is said that his relationship with Wurzenberger ‘is serious’ and that Bayern Munich were also informed about it.

Wurzenberger’s employers announced the relationship yesterday in an article titled: ‘Julian Nagelsmann loves Bild reporter.’

The article stated that the pair had enjoyed a short holiday in Ibiza and the newspaper only became aware of the relationship earlier this week.

The same paper announced the break-up of Nagelsmann’s marriage on June 3.
