Boyfriend Arrested in Case of Babysitter Accused of Killing Toddler After Disturbing Phone Searches

A second person is facing charges in Georgia for his alleged role in the death of 2-year-old Fallon Fridley, PEOPLE confirms.

In a statement, the Sandy Springs Police announced the arrest of Jeffrey Meyers, 28.

Meyers, the statement says, is the boyfriend of Kirstie Flood, who was Fridley's 29-year-old babysitter.

Flood, herself a mother, was watching little Fallon on Dec. 9, 2020, when she called 911 for help with the unresponsive toddler.

Fallon later died at the hospital, and an autopsy revealed she "suffered severe injuries that resulted in her death during her care by the suspect," police documents, provided to PEOPLE, allege.

At first, Flood allegedly claimed the toddler hit her head on a slide at the playground. But police allege her severe injuries were inflicted on her by Flood.

In addition, investigators allege they found searches on Flood's cell phone for "what type of people enjoy abusing other people's children" and "what does it mean to have a sudden urge to beat a child that's not yours."

Flood is charged with two counts of felony murder, one count of malice murder, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of cruelty to children in the first degree.

On Wednesday, authorities revealed that Meyers would be charged with individual counts of cruelty to children and murder — both second-degree felonies.

The press statement on his arrest did not address the specific allegations against Meyers.

According to police, Flood started working for Fallon's family in August.

Both Flood and Meyers have yet to enter pleas to the charges they face.

Both are being held without bond, online records show.

PEOPLE was unable to determine if either defendant has retained an attorney who could comment on the allegations on their behalf.
