Disgraced outgoing Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s stain is even affecting the legacy of his father, former three-term governor Mario Cuomo.

Some Democrats are now entertaining a push to remove Mario Cuomo’s name from the new $4 billion new Hudson crossing in Rockland/Westchester — an idea unthinkable just months ago.

It would be renamed back to its original name — the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Queens Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, a Democratic Socialist, has signed on as a co-sponsor of the bill to rename the bridge.

“The renaming of the Tappan Zee Bridge was a cosmetic vanity project of Andrew Cuomo. Given our approaching change from the regime of the administration to a new chapter, I think it’s appropriate to have a clean slate in several ways that include returning the bridge to its former name,” González-Rojas told The Post Wednesday.

Adding insult to injury is that Gonzalez-Rojas represents parts of the same Queens borough that the Cuomos hail from.

Bronx Democrat Assemblyman Kenny Burgos also said he’s leaning toward signing on to the bridge renaming bill.

Burgos said he has many relatives in Rockland County “and people in the area want to rename the bridge.”

“It’s probably in the best interest of the state to change the name back to the Tappan Zee Bridge,” Burgos said.

Assemblyman Michael Lawler (R-Rockland), the author of the bill, said he’s spoken to other Democrats who are also considering joining the bridge renaming campaign.

At Andrew Cuomo’s behest, the Legislature agreed to rename the new bridge after Mario Cuomo in 2017 following a backroom deal that was signed off by the then-Republican leadership of the state Senate.

Gov. Cuomo considers the construction of the new $4 billion bridge one of his crowning achievements as governor.

Cuomo announced his resignation on Tuesday after a devastating investigative report released by Attorney General Letitia James last week concluded the governor sexually harassed 11 women, including current and former government staffers.

Lawler joked Wednesday, “Andrew Cuomo couldn’t get away with naming the bridge after himself so he named it after Mario.”

Lawler also noted that the bridge used to be called the “Malcolm Wilson-Tappan Zee Bridge,” named after Wilson, a former governor who lived near the bridge.

He said it was then-Gov. Mario Cuomo who approved the naming of the bridge after Malcolm Wilson, a Republican.

The Legislature would have to approve the scrubbing of Mario Cuomo’s name from the bridge — still a longshot.

Mario Cuomo was governor from 1983 to 1994. He died in 2015.
