I Would Give My Right Arm for a Cute Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston Golden Globes Moment

Picture this: The year is 2020. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, one-time-lovers, now friends, are both nominated for Golden Globes, which means they are sitting in the same room at the Beverly Hills Hilton, fake clapping as people take home trophies. Their eyes meet from across the room, and they realize, after all this time, they’re still in love.

They approach each other and share a hug, the cameras catch it, and the internet explodes. While completely fictional and a figment of my imagination, that is my ideal Golden Globes 2020 scenario.

I know what Jen and Brad do is quite literally none of my business, and I know I should leave them alone and let them live their lives. But this is the internet, so that isn’t allowed, and the reality is they’re gonna do whatever they want regardless of what I write here. So! I’m going to continue!

The time is right for Jen and Brad to get back together, or at least make the internet fantasize about them getting back together. Brad and Angelina? Done. Jen and Justin? Ancient history. Plus, the two of them have “agreed to bury the past” re: his whole cheating scandal. That’s a big obstacle! He went to her holiday party a few weeks ago and was reportedly one of the last ones to leave. Their vibes are, according to an anonymous source, very “flirtatious.” This is prime shipping material, people!

And we need one couple to truly root for right now, regardless of how likely it is that they will actually get together. Last year, we got to obsess over Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s whole “will they or won’t they” dynamic. Bradley was fully dating someone else, and Gaga was engaged, but the sexual tension was undeniable. We analyzed their every move, glance, and sneeze. It made all of awards season more enjoyable. I nominate Brad and Jen to fill the void in 2020. I mean, imagine this moment, but the Brad/Jen equivalent.

If I can’t get a real Brad/Jen couple reunion (fair), might I ask for one moment at the ceremony that is so cute, so pure, that it goes absolutely viral? Some options for what that could look like: 1) If either of them win, a congratulatory hug with a long glance afterward, 2) An “accidental” run-in on the red carpet where there is at least one arm touch, 3) A photo from the after party in which they are very obviously drunk and flirting. I will accept any of those, but the key here is that it has to be captured on film or video, or no deal.

It’s not my business whether Brad and Jen actually get back together. Most people would think I’m insane for even entertaining that idea. Their points are valid! However, these are dark times. I mean, #WWIII trended on Twitter last night. We all need something to cling to. Brad, Jen, the ball’s in your court.
