A wife accused of tying up her husband and chopping off his penis with a rose pruner cried as she appeared in court Wednesday – after her call to 911 revealed she told operators she attacked ‘his favorite part of himself’.
Victoria Thomas Frabutt, 56, is said to have tied up 61-year-old James Frabutt before cutting off his manhood at their Newport, North Carolina home on Tuesday.
She was pictured sobbing in court after telling emergency workers that she ‘couldn’t even get enough blood to make the sign of the cross, or write sinner, or anything like that’ following the alleged assault.
Thomas Frabutt, charged with malicious castration and kidnapping, told operators during a 13-minute call that a pruner was used during the attack, adding: ‘Actually it’s good for pruning roses.’
A motive for the alleged attack is still unclear but Thomas Frabutt, who does not provide her name to operators, referred to her husband James as her soon-to-be ex in the call, WITN reports.
She added: ‘That would be part of the message against sinning against God and fornication.’
And when asked what part of his body Thomas Frabutt was bleeding from Victoria is said to have replied: ‘That would be his favorite part of himself.’

Thomas Frabutt was charged with malicious castration and kidnapping and told 911 operators that a pruner was used during the alleged attack, adding: ‘Actually it’s good for pruning roses’
Cops were called to the North Carolina home on Tuesday before 4am. The penis was located at the home, immediately put on ice and was taken to medical professionals
She is understood to have put a towel on her husband, saying he wasn’t going to die ‘because you’re going to carry a message’.
And she told authorities James was ‘just dandy’ when asked if he was conscious and breathing, according to reports.
She adds: ‘There’s a thing in there that needs your assistance. I don’t know whereabouts it is, it could be anywhere.’
Thomas Frabutt’s bond was raised from $100,000 to $500,000 by Judge Dave McFayden after prosecutors said she was a flight risk. She will next appear in court on September 20.
Chief Detective Jason Wank said officers from the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house on Murdoch Road in Newport just before 4am.
Major Wank said the body part was successfully located by law enforcement.
The penis was immediately put on ice and transported to medical personnel to Vidant Medical Center where James remains.
